Welcome to our discussions and a HUGE THANK YOU for fostering . I wouldn't expect a fight . Let the new foster hang out in a crate a lot the first couple of days to adjust to you and your dogs . This does two things . It crate trains them and lets them have a secure place that is their own . I agree...

Thanks for taking the steps to transport . Any help is appreciated :D . I was all geared up and ready to transport two Siberians , a Poodle and a Doxie cross , but it fell apart at the last minute :( . It will work out though , it always does . When there is a will there is a way . 8) Dave

A wive's tale..

I went out to breakfast this morning and heard people sitting next to my table talking about Breeding their purebred dog once before having it spayed . Their theory was it would make a better emotionally balanced dog out of her letting her nuture her pups . I thought , "Is this one of those Wif...

Pete is doing great :) . One more quick question. Are male dogs more growly then females? I have had many dogs but Pete is my first male. I've had three females and three males of my own . No males aren't more growly than the girls IMHO . Molly is the worst I've had for growling , bluff charging etc...

I have a little more to add :) I do not have any young kids, all are older, they are 20 tomorrow to 22 living here at home. I have two girls and a boy, and Lex has growled at them but when they bother her, she may be on my bed, or in her bed, maybe her spot on the leather couch. I always tell Lex, n...

I agree with Lisa , if she was going to bite it would have happened . Terry has more experince with Brittanys than about anyone I know . That being said I would do as Lisa suggested and get Lex desensitised to kids . She might not ever be a fan of young kids , but you should be able to get her to to...

I might be wrong about them digesting grass , but I think I asked my vet once a long time ago . He said they use the grass in order to aid digestion , especially if they are eating mostly dry Kibble . Hey Kibble and Bits of Grass   Dave

Grass must be like oatmeal for dogs  . My two eat grass all the time especially Molly . I keep expecting her to start Mooing . I keep telling her she part Angus cow  . Grass doesn't digest in dogs so it has to pass out and make their poop bigger . 8) Dave

Dave 1 1/2 cups a day, did you feed her once a day or split it in two meals? I feed all my dogs twice a day . I gave her 3/4 cup early AM then the same about 5:30 PM . I gave her baby carrots , celery and just about any veggies I happened to have in the house as a supplement . She ate them all , es...
