Skinny Molly ..

Postby Dave » Tue May 16, 2006 6:36 pm

For those following the saga of Molly being overweight , now she's almost Skinny :!: [img][/img] [img][/img]
I am so proud of her . She was so revved up after getting groomed that she wouldn't hold still on the scale , but we think she weighs about 45 lbs. That is 49 lbs. less than she started last July :!: :P Dave

This is truely amazing! What a great job you've done. Now, if only a person could lose half of their body weight in a year, you'd be rich! The haircut is adorable.

Good golly, Miss Molly! She looks fabulous, Dave! What a great job you've done with her. She's got a whole new lease on life and a great "Dad" to boot!

WOW! WOW! and WOW!

That is truly remarkable. What made her lose weight the best . . . diet, excercise or both?

So, is she a member of the family now? Hard to adopt her out after investing that much love and care into her.

I actually used Science Diet Perscription weight loss food along with twice daily walks and runs off leash . She got veggies for treats and I suplemented her diet with various other foods in small amt. to balance her diet . She lost more than most Brittany weigh :D I decided to keep her after about 8 weeks . I truly have an attachment to her . She has the personality to go with that huge size , although it didn't shrink like she did  Now I wonder if all that skin will eventually tighten up :?: She is like a Blood Hound :P Dave

She looks terrific, Dave! You are a great dog-dad! :D My new guy Beau (previously called Kozmo) weighed 62 pounds when I got him, and I thought THAT was fat! He actually waddled when he walked; poor guy. Now he is 47, and the vet says 5 more to go. Glad Molly is going to get to stay with you. Lucky dog!

Update

Postby Dave » Fri Dec 15, 2006 3:01 pm

Molly weighs 45 lbs. now and has leveled off at that amt. :) She has her shaggy winter coat so she looks bigger . The problem is I can really feel her ribs  . Along her backbone is fine and her hips aren't poking out , in fact she has huge flank muscles from packing that 94 lbs. Her legs are big , as are her feet . Her ribcage circumferance is almost twice Levi's :o I'm going to tape measure her chest . Anyway I'm still proud of her , even if she's convinced we are starving her   Dave

Are there before pictures of her somewhere? That is truly a remarkable weight loss for anyone, let alone a dog! Congrats on the success!

WOW Dave you will have to get some new pics of Molly to show off to us. We are still working at Melanies weight issues, its coming off slow and that is the best way. Less food more walking..hey that is my life too now.
