Right now i am having a lot of resentment at my wifes aunt dog, filling like that it was all his fault of Roy's death. Is this wrong!!!!

I think it's totally normal to want to blame someone or something when a tragedy like this happens. You go through all the "what ifs" just trying to make sense out of something that's next to impossible to make sense out of. Give it some time Ron, grieve, cry, scream, do whatever helps you move on. I've been there once myself ... watched a truck back over my dog whom I "thought" wasn't even in the area. I blamed myself forever even though there really wasn't anything I could do because I thought the dog was in the house at the time. Needless to say, a vehicle NEVER EVER moves in my driveway unless I've gotten down on all fours and checked under the car.

It's not "wrong" to blame your Aunt's dog, it's just not appropriate or fair. The dogs, both dogs, were just being dogs...and fate stepped in and defined the moment. There is really no one to "blame", including yourself. Sometimes in our lives things happen and you just have to put it down to Destiny  Not easy to accept, and finding fault where there is none will not lessen your grief. Try to put your mind to all the good things that Roy had in his life thanks to you....his life ended too soon but what he had had was good. That is all any of us, dogs and people, can hope and wish for, that it is good while it lasts.

Ron, I didn't see this post until now and I just want to say how bad I feel for you. Yes, the emotions are normal and with time will fade but that doesn't make anything easier. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Really, there are no words.
