Snake in the house

Postby Cindy » Sat Aug 31, 2013 4:28 pm

Yesterday I was straightening a little throw rug in the living room. When I picked it up there was a small (probably 12" or less) garter snake coiled up by the baseboard. I freaked out but John wasn't around so knew I had to deal with it. I went and grabbed a small waste basket and a spatula but when I returned it was GONE!!! We looked every where and can't find it. Needless to say, it wasn't easy to sleep last night. Any suggestions on how to find it or, better yet, make it move to someone elses house??!!??!! Where is my cat or 3 dogs when I need them???

Oh no! That would totally freak me out. I wish I could help, but other than Cooper catxching and killing a snake, we haven't had one get in the house. Maybe one of the dogs or cat will find it or more preferably, it left the house.

I really would be freaking out. I think I'm glad I live in the city with no critters.

Glad to know I'm not the only one freaking out. Although ... after living in the country for over 30 years, this is a FIRST but that doesn't make it any easier!!

  I'm laughing because that poor little garter snake is probably 10 times more terrified than you are.....egads, cats, dogs, HUMANS  Hopefully he skedaddled out the same way he got in. If not  well, maybe your critters will get busy and nose him out.

p.s. Honestly, I wouldn't be chuckling if it was a nasty snake.

I hear you!!! Believe me, I was quite thankful it wasn't a Copperhead or Rattlesnake!!! But I really don't do any animals without legs. If it was a lizard I'd be cool!!
