50 lb. Corgi!!

Postby Lisa » Mon Dec 12, 2005 11:59 pm

Yup, that's what I transported today...a 50 lb Corgi! The poor boy was so big he could barely move. I had to lift him in and out of the car, and he had such a hard time breathing...panting and wheezing half of the time.

He was one of the dogs that got seized in a big animal seizure in NE Kansas a couple weeks ago. He'd been in temp foster care in Wichita and needed a ride to Texas for foster care with Corgi rescue. The poor boy was kept in a small cage, never any exercise, just fed. When he came in to temp foster care, his nails were curled around in to his pads!! He's learning how to be a happy dog again, and he'll be fine. He was the sweetest boy. He was very gentle, rode in the car great, LOVED to be petted and talked to.

That's like a 94 lb. Brittany :o . Tell them it's doable getting him back to normal . It takes patience and as many walks as you can talk yourself into regardless if it's snowing or raining . Thanks for your hard work and dedication . 8) Dave
