Blaze had a good day

Postby Karen_P » Sat Mar 22, 2008 9:58 pm

I know some of you have followed Blaze throughout the years, so here's good news!

Blaze won the Open Gun Dog Stake at the Southern New England Brittany Club's field trial today for a 5 point major. This puts him halfway to his field champion title and gives him the required win at a Brittany trial. Blaze has a major in the show ring so now he's well on his way to being a DC!!!

I'm still on Cloud 9! I'm at home while my arm continues to heal (it's making progress though, and I'll be back out there next season), so I didn't get to see him run, but I'm told he really did a nice job, nice ground race, rimmed fields, 4 broke finds, watched his bracemate steal point and then rip a bird out in front of him and kept it together, finished nice and strong....just everything you'd hope for.

He'll run his first hour stake the beginning of April and is now qualified to compete at the American Brittany Club's Open Gun Dog Nationals in October too.

My baby boy did a good job today!!

Congratulations from me and my Blazer to you and your Blazer! Glad to hear your arm is progressing but sorry you could not watch him. He must be so beautiful to watch, he is such a gorgeous wall.

Diana, I finally had an encouraging x-ray taken earlier this month. It was the first one that showed any improvement in the almost 6 months since this happened, so we're all very hopeful that it will heal on it's own now. The surgeon wants to remove the lower screw once it's all healed up as my tricep is rubbing on the screw and getitng irritated, and I'm still amazed at how long it's taking to rebuild my muscles, but the bone is healing slowly but surely.

Hooray for Blaze!!! I've been wondering where you've been and how your arm was doing. Some things just take a long time - hang in there.

GREAT news Karen about Blaze! Even better about your arm.
Does mean we can see you running your dogs in the fall?

I don't understand a word of that but I do understand that he did a great job, is obviously a well trained and that you are proud as can be. Congratulations! Great for Blaze.
