Buster's first real trial

Postby Lisa » Sat Nov 08, 2008 8:32 pm

Buster had his first real agility trial today!! It was a USDAA event, and he was entered in Snooker, Jumpers, and Standard.

His first run of the day was Snooker, and he ended up earning a Q and thrid place!!!!

His second run was Standard, and he did well, but had two faults and went over time. He missed his contact on the dog walk, and slid off the table. More than half of the dogs slid off the table, so I don't feel too bad about that.

His third run was Jumpers, and apparently, sniffing the grass was more interesting that running, so he ended up just barely going over the time, so he didn't Q.

I learned two very important lessons today...1) If you're going to crate out of your car and leave the hatch open all day, make sure the dome light is OFF!! Because a dome light being on all day = a dead battery and a frantic search for someone with jumper cables. 2) Sunblock is my friend and I really should have used some!!

Patti, Jeff, and Shiloh came out to watch, and I'm hoping they got some good pics! There was also a professional photographer there, so I'm anxious to see the photos he got.

Lisa, sounds like it was a good day for you and Buster. A Q your first time out is very good. I laughed when I read your post as we trial with our brittanys also and have done the leave the inside light on=dead battery thing a couple of times. We now carry booster cables with us. Keep up the good work.

We were lucky enough to see Buster's first trial! It was so much fun!! :D Lisa and Buster did great-and to q on his first run of the day! WOW that was awesome! Sorry we didn't stick around for his last -Shiloh was getting tired of sitting, and we only had her pop up kennel in the car -couldn't chance leaving her in there for any length of time! WIll post some pics once Lisa okays them. The video will have to wait as the hockey game is about to begin and I need DH's help!
Sorry to hear about your dead battery-not a good way to end the day when you're tired and just want to get home! And yes we got sunburned too!

Congratulations!!! What a great way to start your career. Looks like Buster had a lot of fun.

A Q and a placement in Snooker... Good for you! I don't understand it well enough to attempt it.

Sorry I can't relate to needing sunblock. It's 40 degrees, overcast and raining all day today.

Oops I forgot -the video is from his 1st run which I will have a link to once
I get it. I tried sending it to you but the file was too big. Jeff uploaded it on Picasso, so I will post it today, once he sends me the link!

Video added

Okay, I think I finally got the video. My DH's link made it so blurry so I joined photobucket to upload it there. Looks like the link worked when I tried it. Better of course when its played on real player.
