Buster's back in the ring

Postby Lisa » Mon Feb 02, 2009 12:31 pm

  He's having a blast and that's about all I can say.

He had his first trial of the year on 1/24, and I'm pretty sure he left his brain in his crate at home! It was bitterly cold, and the event was held in a horse arena with no heating. Buster was much more interested in sniffing the dirt than he was in actually running a course.

He had his second trial of the year this past weekend. The weather was beautiful, and the horse arena wasn't quite such a new, neat thing (since we'd just been there the weekend before). It was sooo much better!! Saturday was still kinda off, but not nearly as bad as the previous weekend. And, of course, I killed a very nice standard run by completely forgetting the course! Yesterday, Buster had a beautiful jumpers run...he would have Q'd except that he completely blew by one of the jumps. His standard run was not as great - he's developed issues with the contact obstacles, but we're working on it.

We're off for a couple of weeks, then hitting the trials heavy the last part of Feb and in to March.

Tell Buster to relax while he can. And we are rooting for him! It will be cool to have another agility king on the boards. :D

Cold weather definitely affects the dogs. When it's subzero here, there were more dogs pulled off the course for not paying attention than I've ever seen - and we're indoors.

Good for you for keeping the positive attitude. It sure makes a difference to your dog!

We're trialing this weekend and I'm 'visualizing' good results. :D

Good luck to you for clean runs, happy runs, fast runs!

I'll be happy if Daisy just "runs" when we get started. I just want to have fun and not cause too much chaos for others....
