Excellent A FAST title

Postby Alifaire » Fri May 07, 2010 7:15 pm

We finally earned our Excellent A FAST title. It took 6 trys to get 3 Qs, but we did it today! Whew - I feel the pressure is off a bit now. Victor is running so consistently that he should have gotten his MACH last year - but he has me as a handler.

Thanks so much. We are trialing again today and hoping for a Double Q!

Would have had a Double Q but the team running just before us left food at the tunnel entrance> Of course, SuperNose couldn't leave it alone - and scooped up the food on the way into the tunnel but then must have thought 'oh wait perhaps I missed some treats' and hung around inside the tunnel making sure it was clean for the next team.

We did Q on the standard run quite easily at 14 seconds under course time - just not on the jumpers course.

Oh well, stuff happens and it wasn't intentional. Tomorrow is another opportunity.

NO, I think it was a set up because Victor is too good and someone was trying to foil him @?X!! Just kidding, but I didn't think food was even allowed in the ring when you're trialing - or is that just when your competing - is there a difference LOL......

I'm amazed at those of you who compete with your Brits...you're talking Q, Double Q, and Mach, I'm talking, "Daisy, do you think you can *try* the A-frame this time"

You're right - food is not allowed on course, but I'm guessing either the dog hacked it up [since some feed the dog going into the ring and the dog doesn't swallow it] or it was in their pocket. I could have tried to handle it better by shooing 'SuperNose' through the tunnel even though he was standing in the tunnel sniffing. The judge may have let it go. Live and learn!

Another day - another opportunity for a Double Q!

Thanks so much. Victor was marvelous today although thoroughly embarrassed by his handler [me]. Seems my brain checked out at strategic points and I just didn't get checked back in for either of the 2 courses. Lost my cell phone and my mind this morning - hope both show up soon!
