Oktoberfest Pretzel Run

Postby Lisa » Fri Sep 17, 2010 9:52 pm

My agility club hosted a "Pretzel Run" at the Oktoberfest in a nearby town. It was a USDAA Steeplechase style course, with an 80 ft "pretzel" tunnel in the middle. Basically, we built two ramps and a cross piece, and then attached four 20 ft tunnels together in a pretzel shape. The dog has to go in one end, follow the pretzel around, and come out the other end. It drew a huge crowd...folks were standing several people deep all around the ring. It was a lot of fun! All the dogs did great, especially with all the noise and people.

Here are some pics that a friend took of Buster:
Look at the height on this jump!

Those are some great shots of Buster. He has such an intense look on his face when he's jumping. Did he like the pretzel tunnel?

I love the first photo of Buster. It looks like he's smiling and thinking, "I've totally got this."

I kinda posted the pics out of order. That first photo is at about obstacle 15...and yeah, at that point, he was having a blast!

Don't know if you noticed the people in the background of some of the shots...but there was LOTS of beer!

He loved the pretzel tunnel. I did have to keep cheering and clapping for him to keep him going through it at speed. 80 feet of tunnel is a long way to go!
