Re: New temp foster - questions

Thanks everyone! So far Bailey has been doing fantastic. I am sure that the last 10 days have been beyond stressfull for him, but he is taking it like a champ! Hopefully with some diet changes we will be able to cut back or even come off some of his meds. I am very happy to report that he has not ha...

I picked up a new foster (Bailey) on Sat, and he comes with a whole box of meds...He is epileptic, and they have him on Phenobarbital (97.2mg) twice a day and 2 caplets of Zonisamide (100mg) twice a day. Overall, his coat is extreemly dry, and looking over his vet records, his liver levals...

Re: how to tell a child?

Well, it actually went better then expected. Since we foster, apparently the idea of dogs not being arround anymore is not that big of a deal to a little kid. He asked where Logan was, then on his own decided that Logan went to live with someone else. We told him that he went to live with God, and t...

how to tell a child?

So we will be saying goodbye to Logan this week. We have had him for just shy of 5 wonderful years. He was our best Christmas present. My husband and I have known his time was drawing near, and recognize that it is now time. However, we now have two non-fur-kids, and are unsure as to how to explain ...

Re: vets in Port St. Lucie, FL area

Good luck with the move. I vacation a lot in Jensen, but never take the pups with, so I guess I am no good there, but on a good note, I do believe there are some great dog friendly beaches in the area.
sorry about the loss of Adam. :(

Re: I'd like to report two holiday miracles

I think I remember posts on facebook that poor little sparkle crossed over the rainbow bridge while she was still with her foster family.   heartbreaking as I think it was from distemper, which the shelter had not tested/vacinated for. I do hope that holistic mom and dad are still lo...

Great Childrens book

Ok, So I have a 21month old...And we foster. Our son sometimes asks where one of our old fosters went, or calls one dog by another dogs name. We have been having trouble explaining rescue work to him in a way that he can understand. Anyway, for Xmas grandma found a great book for this. It is called ...
