Re: Dog chews

We've never given our dogs any antlers, mostly because we've just never had them. The dental vet at our clinic says no to anything hard like antlers, but I'm not sure I agree. We've given the sterilized cow bones in the past without any problems, so....

Re: Looking for advice

Oh man, I'm sorry. You've gotten some tough news there. It really doesn't sound like they think surgery is a great idea so I would definitely do just what you're doing now - try some pain meds and see how he does. We did do surgery on our 9-10 yro boy a few months ago, everyone was quite optimistic ...

Re: joint supplements

We have a two year old Golden with bilateral hip displaysia, he was a Guide Dog for the Blind puppy released back to us. Guide Dogs had him on Dasuquin when he came back. Our vet carries Glyco-flex so we give him that. Didn't see any difference with the switch. Not sure that's really any help for yo...

Re: The reason I haven't been here....

Oh geez, I'm so sorry, what a huge loss. We've lost so many this last year here. I completely understand how you are feeling, I wish I had some advice, but only time will help. Hang in there, remind yourself how lucky you were to have had her even if for too short of a time. RIP Maggie, run free and...

Snuggly?

For years I was envious of those who's Brittanys would snuggle/cuddle. Oh I loved my Britts, but they only hung around while being petted, then they were off again. Several years ago we adopted Copper and he is the best snuggler - daily cuddles for me and if you came to visit us, he would give you s...

I agree with Cindy, definitely check his thyroid. I would also change his food - try something grain free and no chicken. Poor fella, I hope you figure it out soon, please let us know.

I loved reading this! We always worry about how these ones with some issues will do, it just makes my day to hear how well you have done with him. Thank you for updating!

Re: Older Dog/Accidents

Sounds like good news then (and we do the same with the collar). Our Copper recently had surgery and had to go urgently every few hours. We ended up putting a "pee pad" on the floor in our bathroom so he could go there. Saved me from being up all night, something maybe to keep in mind if he regresse...
