Re: Peeing in the house

When we first got Jack I did a lot of reading here and the internet and those suggestions were helpful to bring him down quiet a bit since we first got him. He does have a thundershirt but we use it for storms since he has that issue as well. He is so attached to my husband that I think it makes it ...

Peeing in the house

Long story. Jack has been with us almost a year and a half. Since my DH works from home most of the time Jack has not been able to fully get comfortable with no one in the house. He doesn't whine anymore, just a little pacing, but he sometimes finds a spot to relieve himself. I am sure it is stress ...

Re: Do dogs get colds?

I don't think so. Nothing has changed in the house and we haven't taken him anywhere he hasn't been before. The sneezing is now practically gone and no coughing in two days. He was at the dog park a week ago and I found out that my oldest daughter had him drinking from another dog's dish there. Kind...

Re: Do dogs get colds?

So after two days Jack isn't coughing much at all. Maybe twice a day but sneezing a lot. His appetite is good, he is drinking well and he is bouncy as all get out. Most of the sneezing occurs when he goes out for a walk and we have cut way back on his outside time. His nose is occasionally runny but...

Do dogs get colds?

So how do you decide when you need to go to the vet? Jack has been sneezing and has had a little bit of coughing for a day. This morning he left most of breakfast and is definitely lethargic. He is still drinking but it may not be quite at his regular amount but it is also cold and last year his con...

Re: Gotcha Day for Jack

Thanks all. He is a dear dog, and that is coming from a cat person. Although I guess now that would be a former cat person since he moved in.

Gotcha Day for Jack

Well one whole year has gone since Jack came into our lives. He had eggs and bacon for breakfast and lots of hugs and kisses all day long. He has settled in well finally and is truly in his forever home. He demonstrated his point a week ago when we were at a makeup obedience class. The instructor as...

Re: Night time pleasure - skunky dog

Yup washed the collar, actually soaked it and it worked well. The smell seems to be not so bad on the face now but the tummy is still a huge problem. His gotcha day is approaching in a few weeks, hope he smells better for his party.

Re: Night time pleasure - skunky dog

Oh my goodness, I'm not even going to be in the room when that is tried. Today is three days from his last wash and it's driving me nuts. I have already put in my two cents that he gets another face wash tonight but I am having a little resistance from DH on that. Hopefully tomorrow. I am spraying N...

Re: Night time pleasure - skunky dog

Barb; De-skunking is proceeding well I think. Jack had a total of four washings on the Saturday, two with baking soda and vinegar in the wee hours and two during the day with Nature's Miracle. By the time he was finally dry you could tell he had been sprayed but it had diminished and at least we wer...

Re: Night time pleasure - skunky dog

I have no more old towels left, the dog shakes every time I go near him, and Nature's Miracle isn't doing the job. I don't know how to get the smell reduced on his face, he won't let me work on it and having DH hold it makes me the meanie. I think I'll start my long weekend drinking now...... And ev...

Night time pleasure - skunky dog

Something Jack ate last night didn't agree with him and after midnight he really needed to go outside. I stumble downstairs in my "sleeping" attire (underwear) and let him out. I realize that I have left the fresh baked bread on the counter and put it in a bag. Now I go back to the patio door to cal...

Re: Vote for ABR, Raise Money, Win Prizes

We are now 228 votes behind. ABR friends and family need to keep focused and remind everyone to vote every day to try and stay even with AKC. They may have a larger base but Britts rule!
