Re: Babies & Brittanys (Photos: My grandson & Diamond)

What sweet photos! Diamond reminds me of our old brittany Remington. He was always sweet around the kids until the day he died (at 18). Our new Brittany, a wild man at 10 months does his best. But it's just so hard to be calm when you're a young brittany!!!

Re: Oldest Brittany???

I just stumbled across this tread. I had to put my sweet old brittany down this last spring, he was one month past his 18th birthday. The vet said he was the oldest brittany he'd ever seen. I really miss that sweet old man :)

Re: Bladder control issue

Well that is what I was hoping for:) It's been a while since I've had to house train a puppy. He really is a very good Brittany. Our last one was rotten to the core :D He passed away about 3 months ago at the ripe old age of 18, and I swore I would never own another one. But here we are:) The house ...

Bladder control issue

Our pup is 13 weeks old and really is having a hard time with the house training. He has a very excitable bladder and wets whenever he gets excited (which is often:)). I'm starting to be concerned he has some sort of kidney issue. He seems to have no control over his bladder. He appears to act guilt...

Well the vet visit went okay overall. The vet feels he most likely has a gastric cancer of some sort. Nothing showed up on xrays, but at his age it not really worth doing extensive testing. He has put him on some pancreatic enzymes to help with digestion and see if that helps him gain some weight. A...

REALLY bad smell???

I have an almost 16 year old Brittany that has taken a serious decline in his health this past year. In the past year he has lost about 15lbs and now he has a really bad smell about him. Way worse than your average dog fart. He smell rotten almost---all the time. Last night it was so bad that we had...

Thank you all so much for your responses. It has really helped me a lot. I don't think Remington is ready yet, but I also feel like the time is not far off. This has been a hard process for me. He really was my first baby:) My first really rotten baby for the first couple of years! But there's somet...

Thank you for your response. He does still eat, just not like he use to. My biggest concern for him is that he is getting increasingly nervous and anxious in the house. At times he seems very confused/lost. He is most comfortable sleeping on the patio with his friend (our collie). It has been a hard...

aging brittany, when to let go?

This is my first post and I am looking for some advice. I have a 16 year old brittany. He is deaf, going blind, and according to the vet has the dog version of Alheismer's. I have had Remington since he was about 12 weeks old. My then boyfriend (now husband), found him in a field when he was a pup. ...
