incontinance

Jemee, my rescue dog, has been peeing in her sleep. We've had a lot of changes this past year....I got married to a guy with a dog (so we now have three), and we had a baby. She seems to be rather intimidated by my husband and sometimes 'piddles' when he comes home from work. But the nighttime urina...

mine are bathed at home as needed and brushed at least once a week. I use a stripper blade on them from time to time as needed and sissor cut the hair on their paws when I clip their nails.

I learned, after about 4 years, that Saucy will sleep on a cushion at night, but during the day, if he gets bored, the cushion becomes a toy. Its not really an issue any more as he sleeps with me at night, but you might want to try that (no cushion during the day...only at night). My friend's border...

thanks for all your help, guys! I think I'm going to go buy a cheap clock radio so he can listen to music during the day. Christian music will be good...and then he'll be saved!

update

Hi. Well, Roady spent the last week at the vets being tested and calming down so they could begin treatment. I have him here at home, now because they need to do some pre-treatment medication and its better for him to be here for that. Poor thing. His heartworm is the worst the vet has ever seen. An...

Saucy has this issue and I've been told repeatedly that its due, in part, to his being altered. I recently (about a week or so ago) began giving both my dogs brewer's yeast and garlic every day. Its too soon to tell if it is helping. For the past year, I've used a stripping knife on Saucy and it has...

crate rest

Hi all! As of yesterday, I am fostering a brittany with heartworm. He's doing ok now, but will start his treatment in a few days. Any tips for crate resting a brit? The only excitement he has shown in the house is toward the cat..otherwise he's pretty laid back. When I crated him for the night last ...

have you tried the super hard dog bones with goop in the middle? I get them from petsmart... I was going to post a link, but I can't seem to find them on petsmart's website. The goop gets licked out, but then the dogs keep working on them. When they seem to be bored with the bones, I put peanut butt...

Yay!

Yay! An obedience thread!!! Jemee had a trial last weekend in Bloomington. Needless to say, we were excused from the ring...she was NOT paying attention to me at all!!!! So we went over to watch the conformation brittanies. I was pleasently suprised by the attitude of the owners towards Jemee...

Jemee fluffs her cushions. Saucy will have nothing to do with dog beds. At night, he sleeps with me...at the end of the bed. By morning, he is in the middle of the foot of the bed, if not the middle of the bed all together. My poor cat has to sleep by my head because she never knows where Saucy will...

My friends' border collies are on mother hubbard (?) fish and sweet potato. That stuff reaks to high heaven. And when they poop in my yard? Saucy insists on rolling in it....just about every time they come over he ends up needing a bath. ugh. I don't know how you all do it. When I dog sat the bcs, I...

Jemee does have a full tail. Its beautiful!!! Since we don't know where she came from (she was found running in a field in nebraska), we don't know why. I was out at an obedience and confirmation trial yesterday. When we were done with our obedience class, Jem and I went over to watch the confirmati...

teaching 'cover'

I started by placing a piece of scotch tape on the side of his muzzle. When he'd try to wipe it off with his paw, I'd say "cover" and then give him a treat after he did it. After a couple of trys, I'd remove the piece of tape, say "cover" and see if he did it. If he did, praisepraisepraise and a tre...

say please

Years ago, I decided to teach saucy to hold his paw over his eyes. Well, I could get him to swipe his paw across his eyes, but I could never get him to hold it still and cover them. So I turned the command to 'say please'. Now, if he wants something really bad, or if you tell him to say please, he'l...
