Re: Catching Birds!
Could you use some temporary fence, like the wire garden borders, to keep the dogs far enough away but still make it easy to move for mowing?

Re: How can you tell if your Britt is too heavy?
In our house, if DH is feeding the Britt... the Britt is too heavy
Victor is 20" at the shoulder and was 32 lbs. when he was running agility. He's now 38.5 and that's way too heavy - he's starting to get the 'Cocker Spaniel waddle roll'

Re: Oral Epulis - UPDATE
Is your vet using the laser to remove the tumor? It sure helps the healing process.
Victor sends his 'get through it and get well' wishes to Kayla! He highly recommends the scrambled egg and sweet potato menu for a the first week!

Re: Oral Epulis
Victor is home now and is sleeping. The epulis was bigger than the vet realized but she is certain she got it all. She is also certain that since the first one was benign that this is also - plus it looks just like the first one. The vet said many people either don't notice them or just leave them a...

Re: Just pondering ....
Victor has no issue with up-chucking in the daylight. He just wants to be outside when he does it. However, several times I have walked through the house in the morning and wondered what kind of party must have taken place the night before given the number of slimy stains on the carpet.

Advantix II
Has anyone seen side effects from using Advantix II? Right after applying Advantix II, Victor's ears turn red and hot and he lays around with an "I don't fee so good" look for about 8 hours. Victor used to get a sebaceous cyst shortly after applying Advantix, but none with Advantix II. The vet recom...

Re: Oral Epulis
Sorry for the delay in responding to your post - but glad Kayla is healthy! Victor is back at the vet today having another epulis removed. The first one was benign and the vet is sure this one is also. This epulis is pushing out between the front teeth where the first tooth was lost from the first e...

CD at last!
After 7 - yes 7 - attempts at the CD title, Victor and I finally earned that title on Saturday. Who would have thought that sitting for 60 seconds would be the 1 thing that had to be conquered. It seems Victor will not sit next to a male dog - only a female dog. So out of 7 tries, there was a female...

Re: AKC's Lifetime Achievement Titles
Victor has had too many issues with his back and he has some hip dysplasia so I made the decision to walk away from agility while I still have a somewhat healthy dog. We are working toward the VCD1 title which isn't seen as often as multiple MACH titles. The challenge will be getting the tracking ti...

AKC's Lifetime Achievement Titles
As of July 1st AKC implemented lifetime achievement awards for agility. Victor has achieved the Silver level for both the Standard and Jumpers categories. That's a nice way to cap off our agility career!

Hair loss from insect/spider bite?
Well, the saga continues... the insect/spider bite on Victor's front leg is now losing all the hair around the bite site. The bald spot is about 1.5 inches up and down the leg and around half of the leg. The skin is dark pink to brownish pink. He is not favoring the leg, but does lick it occasionall...
