Re: Westminster Breed Results--Brittany
Gosh - these Britts are so beautifully groomed. Victor has more 'fuzz' than a bag of cotton balls! Now I want to get that all stripped off. He'll be thrilled.
He's got to look better before we go into the obedience ring!

Re: B12 low range
Nope - I actually think he may have had a 'flu' that a few other dogs in our area had.

Re: The Ups and Downs of Agility
Buster got all happy and took my legs out from under me OUCH! I usually finish the course and wonder why I can't think quickly enough to make a handling adjustment - but I can have the 'We've got this - NO - shut up - work the course - WE'VE GOT THIS Q! - NO, SHUT UP - RUN!!!" conversation going in...

Re: The Ups and Downs of Agility
I try... I really do... but somewhere on the course that nasty voice says "WE'VE GOT THIS"... and then we don't.go in with the attitude that you're going to have fun with your boy

Good luck with USDAA!

Re: The Ups and Downs of Agility
Thanks! Victor is doing well - he's on a homeopathy routine of arnica and Ruta grav.; ice after every run; more warming up before each run. We could have had our MACH again  but my handling is not quite right. I think I'm choking on the self-induced pressure. We trial again at the end of Octob...

I brag and if you knew Victor's daddy - you'd know who really brags about his little orange buddy!

Re: First day in the field
My Gordon Setter friend informed me that by percentages, there are more dual champion Gordon Setters than Brittanys. Ok - your field, your birds, your brag. She has no interest in a Brittany. Victor flushed the first bird he found; pointed the second bird but didn't hold; caught the bird in f...

First day in the field
A friend, who is training her Gordon Setter for his hunt test, has invited Victor to be part of the training this morning. She is supplying the fenced field and birds for training. Victor is there to get her dog accustomed to another dog in the field. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to get Victor ...

Re: Love clicker training!!!!
Victor and I just attended a clicker training class. We started every class with 'in your face' recalls to get the dog focused. With treats in one hand and clicker in the other, I just say 'Victor, Come' and when he looks at me I click and when he's in front of me he gets his treat. Before he moves ...

Re: The Ups and Downs of Agility
Recipe for a blind cross... -Take 1 course already NQ'd -Add 1 Britt that will send out to a jump -Stir in a straight shot across the ring and no time to 'twirl' for a front cross [or so it seemed] I don't usually use Blind Crosses, but it seemed like a good place to try it since we had already NQ'd...

The Ups and Downs of Agility
It could've been a MACH weekend... It should've been a MACH weekend... So much potential... so much hope....Just needed 2 double QQs And on the first run, Victor did not finish the weaves - unusual. Then on the 2nd run he just stopped running at jump 5. What was wrong with my dog?! A review of the v...
