Now I know what to call Victor's cottony coat - 'funky fur'! That answered one of my questions about him. Now I won't worry about it being allergy related. He had a beautiful silky coat when we adopted him from the shelter, but (according to a Brittany handler) the stress caused him to blow out his ...

My trainer indicated grapes are a big NO for dogs - just like onions. The good news is there has been no further indication of an allergic reaction to the all-beef hot dogs - so maybe we can begin there. I mentioned shrimp to my husband and he didn't seem to think it was extravagant. So I might snag...

Thanks again for the suggestions. The fish and sweet potato is Wellness brand. He does love duck jerky but aren't you supposed to use something the dog doesn't need to chew for fast feeding during agility training? I'll look for freeze dried salmon too. I'm also looking to cook up some rabbit and/or...

His fish and sweet potato kibble is of no interest. What he really likes is hot dogs (all beef, of course). So I'm trying to introduce t...

Sticking with it for 7 more weeks and will try harder to keep my sense of adventure. The instructor says I need to be more 'animated' to keep Victor engaged. Like a pound of treats and $20 in new toys isn't enough. Just like a kid - money doesn't matter; it's my attention he needs.

Victor Begins Agility

I can't tell you how blessed I am to have found this group! We adopted Victor in March of 2006 when he as about a year old. Since then we completed Basic Obedience class and are a certified team with Therapy Dogs, Inc. and a local hospice organization. Last night we attended our first beginner's agi...
