Re: dog coat
I do notice their coats thicken, but my boy's feet can't take the cold. I have tired leaving the fur on his feet long, but then the ice gets stuck

Re: Separation Anxiety Relapse
Jack's SA did get better with a second dog. However, after being home for a year on maternity leave, it is starting back again, drooling and barking in the crate. This is even though Ruby is still right beside him. I think he is more anxious b/c he's not sure when our little kiddo is going to come b...
Re: dog coat
My mom made coats for her Grand-dogs. I left here a message to get the pattern number when I get the info I will post it. She did the outside in a cord material and the inside in fleece, since that is what she had around. and customized a button hole for the harness when we walk them. My dogs can't ...

Re: Mountain Dog
That is a great story. We have a 12 year old girl that we took hiking in the Rocky Mountains in Banff last summer and she loved it, though she slept a lot. Ruby had long nails when we got her, and I have been diligently clipping them weekly hoping that the quick might receded and we can cut her nail...

Re: DAP diffuser
I ended price shopping at the local vets and picked one up. Now I just have to read the instructions and plug it in. I am going back to work after mat leave and one dog has decided that he doesn't like his crate anymore (barking and drooling). He used to do this in the past prior to getting Ruby (an...

Hi
I am looking into getting one of these for one of my dogs. I was looking for a Canadian online retailer to order one from. Any ideas?
Thanks
Ann

Re: tricks for teaching "no fingers"
We were taught another way in puppy class and it worked even with our older dog when we adopted her. We used two command Take It and Off I put a treat in my hand and close my fist. Then I put my fist down to doggy nose level and say off. The dogs usually sniff my hand like crazy, but the very instan...

Re: Roadtrippin' with dogs-logistics
One tip I have heard from the dog show people is to bring a sheet with you to save the hotel beds from dog hair if the dogs sleep on the bed. Just as a courtesy to the hotel and to keep them open to having doggies as guests!

Re: Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Well we saw the second vet. The out-turned tissue at Jack's back end is called anal tissue hypertrophy. He said Jack's back end looked like a normal intact male, although he would have expected this degree of hypertrophy in a dog a couple of years older. This is very common in intact males and as th...

Re: Benign prostatic hyperplasia
I don't know how to describe it, his rectum looked like it was swollen up or maybe more out-turned is a better description. When we first started noticing it would sometimes be swollen/little bit out-turned and then go back down to normal after a BM. But in the last year it just goes from very swoll...

Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Our boy Jack has been diagosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia. i thought he might just have blocked anal ducts, but it turns out he prostate is swollen and this is what the Vet has diagnose. The treatment is neutering which isn't a big deal since we were always planning to do it eventually after ...

Stroller, baby and two brits success
I have to post as I am so thrilled with my brits Jack and Ruby and how they did on our walk today. We added a non-fur baby (ie human baby) to our home last fall and since we have had nice weather for the last month I have been working on walking both Jack and Ruby with baby Arthur in the stroller. I...
