Re: one liver brit-free
I was wondering where the support group met.
Orion nailed a bunny--he danced around the back yard with it. I got him to spit it out while chanting, "He's a hunting dog. He can't help it..."

Re: Barking and mouthing meltdowns
Ok, thanks for the reality check. Next question: what do I do if we're out for a walk and he starts to do the jump and mouth thing? What triggers this: Oakley likes to eat, not just carry, but eat sticks and tries to chew them. When I take them from him, he starts mouthing and jumping on me. Today I...

Re: Digging Like Crazy, Help!
If it makes anyone feel better, Oakley has developed a taste for Bitter Apple and original Listerine.

Re: Barking and mouthing meltdowns
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Enginerd.... You had to tether her to the fridge? O...M...G!!! One other thing exacerbating Oakley's behavior: he can't tolerate oatmeal or peanut butter. I've been stuffing his Kongs with rice the last couple of days, and that's helped. He's still h...

Barking and mouthing meltdowns
Well...the good news about Oakley: he's about 80% housebroken, doing well at school, and growing well. The bad: he's been going into meltdowns late afternoon. No matter how much I walk him or play with him, he goes nuts. Not just the zoomies, but jumping, barking, and mouthing. I've had to throw him...

Re: I'd like to report two holiday miracles
A big like and hugs back to everyone :D. Long story. Well, unfortunately, the dog we were going to adopt around Christmas did, unfortunately, cross the Bridge from distemper. :( The good news: we found Oakley, a Britt blend, through a shelter up by Rockford. He's 6 months old. He's very smart, about...

Re: Any thoughts on neglect recovery?
Thanks, Canned Ice! We're--oh, I (remember, Holistic Dad really doesn't want a dog  ) am going to get her furry little butt signed up for obedience classes, too. Did I mention that Sparkle figured our what drinking fountains are for at the vet's she was taken to after she got pulled? And that ...

((((Thanks, everyone))))!!
Sparkle had to run back to the vet today--she got a bit dehydrated yesterday from the diarrhea flare-up.
So I'm waiting on word.

Re: Tremmors/spasms/pm seizures???
As cliched as it sounds, as long as he's still having fun and enjoying life, even with the flippin' seizures. You never have enough time with your dog. I have a friend who had a dog who lived to be 19.5. Still wasn't long enough, even though the last few months were compromised by doggy Alzheimer's.

Condolences to you and Jen, Mark.
Glad you're better. Now, no one will judge you if you want to share what you swallowed.
