Re: How do you exercise your brittany in the cold?
We walk in all types of weather too - just shorter walks and more clothing for me and the dogs. I use Musher's Wax on the paws (got that suggestion here on the board) and I also spray some oil on the feather, keeps the snow balls off if the snow it deep...really works like a charm. If it's really re...

Re: Daisy's Christmas Pictures
I know - isn't that Santa in the last one HORRIBLE - that's why Daisy looks scared.
We are not going to PetSmart again for pictures, they used this same scary guy last year who obviously doesn't want to be there and doesn't like animals...

Re: Am I doing the right thing?
Hopps is Lucky. Having a fenced yard is not the MOST important thing in owning a brit - just my opinion of course...but I have a fenced yard and when I put Daisy out there alone...she does NOT exercise, she gets into mischief -tries to dig, chases small animals, barks at other dogs and people or jus...

Re: Food allergies
Kat, for treats - what about freeze dried liver? (if it's not the red meat variety - maybe Lamb is available). Also maybe a dehydrator would be a good idea, this way you can dry out your own meats for treats.
Hope copper is better.

Re: Brittany mix in an apartment
Entirely possible that he won't jump out - maybe see how he is in there in small increments. Also, not all Britts have SA, hopefully he doesn't. When I was de-sensitizing Daisy - I started with a crate - which for HER didn't work well, then we moved to closing her in the kitchen with a high gate -(4...

Re: Brittany mix in an apartment
Hate to break this to you ;) but if he can put is paws up on the pen, Hopps can probably jump out of it. If he needs to be contained, I'd go with a large Vari-Kennel type crate (not the wire ones, if you think he might chew). There's handout on the ASPCA's website called, "Weekend Crate" training th...

Re: Is this aggression or play or both?
Sounds like Hopps has lots of energy. Without being there to observe his posture/body language and the posture/body language of the dogs he's with, I'll give you my best educated guess - it seems that sometimes Hopps is playing and sometimes he's getting a little over the top ;) If he's chasing and ...

Re: BE SAFE ...
Survived the Storm - lost power from Monday night through Friday afternoon. Daisy and the kitties made it through just fine. But at one point she was soo scared, she just froze and stared off into space. I also had to take her out in the middle of the storm because she had to go and the wind was blo...
