Mark, I'm sorry this has happened, but please know that you are making the right decision. The health and safety of a child or human being always has to come first. I truly feel for you and your family as I had to go through a similar experience - I returned a dog I adopted prior to Daisy because he...
Hi Donna, the picture is actually of my Daisy Mae (and amazing she does look like your Daisy Dew, they could be twins).
This picture was taken a few years ago at a dog park 5 minutes from my home.
So sorry to hear about PJ. I agree with the rest, Daisy has SA too and she hates the crate and I too was told that crating an SA dog usually isn't good. I agree with Barb on seeing a Vet behaviorist, I saw one for Daisy's fear of flies, and she recommended a treatment plan that my regular vet never ...
Daisy did very well at her second trial - we didn't q on any runs this time, but she had a very good time and we came in first place (even though we NQ). Only one No Time for zoomies at this trial so we are improving, Best thing of all is she is HAVING FUN. she's one of the few dogs who runs with he...
Daisy has been good - she has her first indoor agility trial next Saturday Aug 4. We are entered in CPE and she will do Snooker, FullHouse, Jackpot and Jumpers.
4 runs is a big day for her - she'll be tired. Hopefully we'll stave off the zoomies this time around!
Hi Stahl, I know how you feel - I love to feed too - but Daisy is a tall girl and she gets 2/3 cups food 2 x a day. Daisy was on Taste of the Wild Grain Free, now she's eating Organix and her next food will be EVO which is also grain free. I know the 3/4 looks like a small portion, but if you're usi...
Mark, you have competing motivations at play here (i.e. the prey drive and coming back to you for a treat) so that is always going to be difficult. I agree with the others, since Suzy is delicate and has strong pray drive, I'd seriously consider getting her professionally trained. You may even be ab...
Roast beef has always been a good treat for us and it's cheaper than the "premium" treats on the market.
You can also try just feeding him meals in his crate as that will make a position association.
Awesome - I wasn't aware that Victor was done with agility - but I can understand why, he has a lengthy and impressive list of accomplishments, you have much to be proud of.

I think you have a great plan for Smitty and don't have much to add - except in regards to the cats - I might put "leave it" a little higher up on the list so that you can hopefully stop the chasing and just make sure that the cats (or Smitty) is secure before you leave them alone together. At least...
