Re: care to share any senior dog tips?
Hmmm....I'll have to think about those socks. They actually look pretty nice. I thought of something else my husband does for Sammy. He likes to jump up on the couch and he was getting to the point where he could make it up maybe 3 out of 4 times. So, my husband now removes the middle cushion from t...

Re: JJ is trim and fit
Wow! It just amazes me when I hear the size/weight of some of these brittanys! Maggie was my biggest, and at the most, she only weighed 42lbs. Good for you and good for JJ for getting off that extra weight!

care to share any senior dog tips?
My Sammy is 14-will turn 15 in July. All in all, he's doing pretty good, although he has been slowing down lately. I'm hoping anyone with "senior" experience will share any tips they've used to make life easier. We give Sam a daily supplement that we order from Drs. Foster & Smith that has both gluc...

Re: Oh Joy - It's a Boy!
I LOVE seeing the pictures you post of Teddy on FB! After we lost Maggie, I haven't been sure if I want another puppy. And now that Sammy is 14 1/2 and really slowing down, I think even more how hard it is to lose a dog. But then I see pictures of Teddy, and I think, maybe........

Re: Help me choose!
Personally, I would not use a feeder like that. I measure out my dogs meals both morning and evening. I want to know exactly how much they are eating, and I want to know if they are eating less (or seem to want more.) If I used a feeder like that, I wouldn't have any idea if Emma & Sammy were eating...

I am so very, very jealous! Maggie, my heart dog, was a roan. I am really looking forward to more pictures as Teddy grows up!

Re: Emma?
Funny you should ask. I think this weekend, we may have figured out what was causing her "tremors." My husband likes to do Sudoku puzzles while watching TV in the evening. He cuts them out of the newspaper and puts them on a little mini clipboard that he has. Sat evening, he noticed that when he ope...

Re: Gage fainted
So how is Gage? Has he had any more episodes? When is your appointment with the cardiologist? (Our dogs are really keeping us on our toes lately!)

Re: Gage fainted
Yes, that is scary! How old is Gage? I have no experience with a dog "fainting" so I"m no help. I sure hope you get some answers, though, and hope it's not serious and is easily treatable. The worst part is not knowing. Good luck, and keep us updated!

Re: O...M...G. What next?!!!
We were driving home last night when 2 deer crossed the road right in front of us. To the left side was a HUGE hill. My husband, of course, slowed down to be sure no more deer crossed. I told him to get moving before a deer jumped off the hill and crashed through the sun roof. He told me if that hap...

Re: calming biscuits
thanks for the update!! Are the pills for pain? I will say that we didn't use the toaster oven for years because when we turned it on (no beeps turning it on), Sam would run off and hide... don't know what he was reacting to, but who needed a toaster oven anyway?? Don't I know it!!!  The...

Re: calming biscuits
We're to give her a pill 3 times a day, and if it seems to be helping, then cut her back to twice a day. Monday evening was good, but I think she was tuckered out. Tuesday evening, she was bad again-panting and clingy. Yesterday, we were getting together with some friends. Left the house around 7pm ...
