you know what I miss?
I really, really, REALLY miss when we used to do the Bidding for Good ABR on-line auction each year. I know we got out of it because of the work involved (packing & shipping, etc.) but I wonder if there is anyone out there who would volunteer to help with this? I would be glad to get donations-I did...

Re: separation anxiety
Thanks for the suggestions. I will pass these on. I remembered someone mentioning calming biscuits before, but didn't remember what kind. I always order stuff from Drs. Foster & Smith, so maybe I'll add that to my next order! I also found that Patricia McConnell has a book on treating separation anx...

separation anxiety
My sister in law recently adopted a 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. She is a beautiful girl, considering she's not a Brittany   Anyway, here's the background. My SIL's friend had the dog since she was a puppy. She had to give the dog up, so my SIL agreed to take her. Lily(the dog) has sep...

Re: National Dog Day today
Well, we went to Dog's Day in the Park, but we didn't stay long. It was just too darn hot for Emma! They did have a nice set-up, though. Plenty of large water bowls all over the place for dogs to get a drink, plus, they had half a dozen wading pools for the dogs to get in and cool off. And, we won a...

National Dog Day today
Anyone doing anything special? We took Emma to be groomed yesterday (which she did NOT think was special, LOL! She hates it!) Tomorrow, we will take her to Dogs Day in the Park, a fund raiser for one of our local rescue groups. We go there each year and everyone gravitates to Emma, who is such a cut...

Re: where does she find these things?!!!
Oh, AuntieMom, you make me laugh!!! I guess I should actually consider myself fortunate. Emma will roll in anything disgusting, and she will pick up anything disgusting, but she rarely eats it! (Except for cat poop....can't turn that down   ) One time last year, again while my husband wa...

where does she find these things?!!!
I came home from work, and my husband was out in the garden. He said while he was working, Emma came running up to him carrying a RABBIT'S HEAD in her mouth!!! OMG!!! No body-just a head! He said he is sure she didn't eat it or kill it-probably either a red tailed hawk or an owl dropped it. ...

Re: hate fireworks
Our Maggie hated fireworks, and got worse each year. I sometimes take my elderly mother out to see a fireworks display, but my husband would always stay home with the dogs, keeping them inside with him with the TV up loud! Funny-the only 2 things Maggie was afraid of was fireworks and thunder. If sh...

coat color/texture
I'm curious-do all liver & whites have a different coat texture from the orange & whites, or is it just my crew? Emma, my L/W, has always been kind of soft & fuzzy. EVERYTHING sticks to her coat. She comes in with leaves, twigs, even insects clinging to her....it's like she is Velcro!!! Maggie, our ...

Re: my silly Emma
The surgery went well. Her vet removed the mass and said it was not attached to any big vessels-just lots of "little bleeders", which is good. Apparently, the worst part was AFTER the surgery. The vet called me at work around 3:20 and said she was awake and alert and we could pick her up between 5-6...

Re: Reintroducing myself
We currently have 2 britts. Emma is 9 years old. We got her from a breeder when she was just a puppy, and she is our silly, loveable little clown. And Sammy, who will be 14 in July, is our foster failure. We fostered him for about 5 months, and then he was adopted. The couple kept him for about 5 mo...

Re: Blankets
Well, I don't know if this counts, but my Maggie chewed holes in every single blanket, sheet and pillow case that we own!!!

Re: my silly Emma
The vet originally thought the lump was just a benign cist. But sadly, after closer inspection of the needle biopsy, she thinks it may be a tumor and is recommending surgery to have it removed. I need to call and get everything set up. We just went through surgery last month with Sammy, our 13 year ...
