Re: My Boys - Photo Test
Awesome photo. The one on the left looks like the chill one. Thanks. The one on the left is Moby and he is 14 1/2 years old. He is deaf and has arthritis. He still enjoys his 1 hour morning walk and gets playful in the evening. Other than that, he spends his days snoozing by the wood stove or on wa...

Moby's 14th Birthday
Well, we have never had a dog live to 14 y/o so I wanted to have a special little party for Moby this year. We invited 4 couples and 2 dogs for a Mexican Birthday Fiesta. It was big fun. He got some cute gifts and yummy treats, including some special (made for dogs) bacon peanut butter flavored froz...

Re: Just Passing Through
I'm making a point to check the boards every few days now. I always LOVE reading about the fur babies. Yes, many have passed which is so sad. For us though, our addiction ensures that there are always new ones coming on board.

Re: Scout & His Foster Dog
We use vibration collars. We trained Wes, Beamer and our late Shep. We got Moby as an 8 week puppy when our other dog was a Blue Heeler. Because the heeler always followed us, we didn't know any different (regarding the wanderlust of a Brittany). I think the heeler trained Moby to stay with the pack...

Re: Scout & His Foster Dog
It's so hard when they start to lose their senses. We took Moby grouse hunting and in some of the thicker cover, had to leash him up which is an all time first. He would get scent of a bird and start charging up a hill faster than we could follow. We were worried about losing him since we can no lon...

Re: Just Passing Through
Guilty. Guilty. I, too, have learned so much through this message board. I am going to make an effort to check the posts more frequently. I always feel terrible when something happens and I haven't responded. Even though I haven't met in person, I feel like so many of you all are family. I LOVE hear...

Re: Goodbye sweet Kayla
Oh Cindy, Your post made me cry. How beautiful that you put Kayla down at home, surrounded by her family, with her frisbee in her mouth. You are lucky to have been able to do it that way. It's so hard to lose one of our pack. She was loved and had a wonderful life with you all. While that doesn't he...

Our New Rescue: Beamer
Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd update on my new, beautiful 9 3/4 old boy, Beamer. We have now had him for 2 months. He was placed for adoption because he was so hyper and difficult. Haha.....I must say that he's been the easiest of our rescues to train. We started with recall in a fenced in ball fiel...

Re: Maggie is Gone
I am so very sorry to hear of Maggie's passing. It is always so hard. We all love our pooches so much. The void is always huge. She was loved. I hope you find some comfort knowing that. So very sorry.

Haha....I have to clarify too. I meant that I was worried about Wesley this summer. He certainly didn't arrive mellow. That took YEARS !!!!!

Re: A Brit that's TOO calm?
I'd give it more time too. I was getting worried that something was wrong with Wesley because he's sooooo mellow. Then I realized that when I take him to the park or out to the desert, he runs non-stop like a wild man. We decided that he's just smart. Conserving energy for when he needs it. Everyone...

My Boys - Photo Test
http://i.imgur.com/jPorp8T.jpg I am learning a new way to post pictures so am throwing out this one of Wesley and Moby with their new brother Beamer. Actually from left to right: Moby, Beamer Wes. He's fitting right in. In one month we have gone on numerous hikes off leash. He is very focused about...
