Re: Senility/Cognitive Dysfunction- UPDATE

I am so glad to here that she is improving !!!! We are diligently giving the Neutricks to Moby now and he seems to be alert and keeping track of me at the dog park. I have not seen any episodes of just staring at a wall in a complete daze so we shall see. I am really happy for you !!!!! These dogs j...

Re: Our old brittany

1 tablet Neutricks - bought on Amazon. Read the reviews which are pretty amazing but I can't say I've noticed a difference (yet) but it's only been 1.5 weeks." Cindy, I don't know how much your dog weighs but I'm giving 2 tabs a day to my 50 lb Britt. Also, just wanted you to know that my vet said ...

Re: Our old brittany

I've been giving Neutricks to my Moby for cognitive dysfunction for 1 month now. He hasn't had any blatant moments of appearing to be lost and/or confused. Interestingly, for his weight, he gets 2 pills a day and I've been giving one in the AM and one in the PM. I bought the first bottle from my vet...

Re: Shep has Renal Failure - UPDATE !!!!

So Shep had his 2 week check up today. He's been more playful and even had the zoomies a few times which we took as a very good sign. He's been on a renal prescription diet and aluminum hydroxide to try to lower his phosphorus. When we went in today, he had gained 1 1/2 lbs. (He had lost a total of ...

Re: Shep has Renal Failure

but at least you're in the medical field which helps with the understanding part. yeah.....but I just re-read my previous post from this morning and man, do I sound clinical. My brain is clinical but my heart is a disaster. One interesting thing to note is that we took him in for the teeth cleaning...

Re: Shep has Renal Failure

We adopted Sheppy when he was 8 and he will turn 13 this December, so not a young dog. We have put him on a prescription renal diet from my vet's office. He uses Royal Canin and it's a low phosphorus formula. Shep's phosphorus levels are also too high. He also wrote for some special prescription com...

Shep has Renal Failure - UPDATE !!!!

I'm heartbroken to announce that my Sheppy has been diagnosed with renal failure. As many of you may remember, I adopted him through ABR in December of 2009. He was 8 years old and been dumped at a kill shelter in Omaha, Nebraska. Auntie Mom (Nancy) pulled him but already had too many fosters. My DH...

Re: Senility/Cognitive Dysfunction

My Moby, who will be 13 in October, was diagnosed with cognitive dysfunction this summer. He is also deaf and his eyes are getting cloudy but he can certainly still see. He also gets a minimum of a 2 mile walk every day and even goes on camping adventures that involves hiking in the mountains though...

Re: Just a dog!!

Does anyone know why this video is now private ?? I was unable to show someone recently and was very sad about it. I thought that ABR had a part in it's production but I could be wrong. I had to have permission from the owner (don't know who that is) in order to log in. Does anyone have permission ?...

Re: We've Come a Long Way Baby !!!!

Yes, the entire family got the "gate lecture" the following morning. I am just so happy that we averted a disaster and that Wes actually got tired of stalking the neighborhood and came home to his own doggy bed. The morning they left, I had to go to work early so they got the second lecture about ma...

We've Come a Long Way Baby !!!!

Flash back to March of 2009. I adopted Wesley and he was oh, so out of control. He jumped the fence. We built a bigger one. He dug under it. We reinforced it. He escaped, ran and looked right through me and ran farther until by some miracle, I caught him. He reduced me to tears more than once. Now, ...
