Ok. Buying the inground fence. I walked off my yard this morning for a rough idea and looks like I have around 300 feet of fence line I'd like to keep her in. I'm just wondering if any of you have purchased one lately and where the best deal is. I found one on Petco for $200 that includes 500 feet o...

Thanks for all the great ideas. We have had a kiddie pool out there for her both summers we've had her, but she only gets in it to play with ds. I thot she would get in while we are gone to cool off....and I guess she would if it gets hot enough. I've never heard of that cooling mat. Any idea where ...

I do love this dog as does my son. I could enjoy her alot more if I wasn't constantly stressed that she was about to escape or further destroy our yard. I am a SAHM, so it is not as if I am off to a job for 8 hours a day or anything. Even a day of errands in town won't run past 4-5 hours and I have ...

[quote="Barb WrightJust shade will not provide coolness on very hot days. She needs a spot that is cool. Why don't you enclose an area under the porch for her...be sure it is vented well. The cool ground under the house will keep her "under porch area" cool as well.[/quote] You mean in the dirt? The...

[quote="Scarlett Most of us find that our Britts do better being a part of the family. And finally, you are eventually going to end up with a litter of "wonder-who-the-dad-is" puppies if you don't confine her or get her spayed. That would be sad all the way around...make an appointment today to get...

Ok, I've settled down and think I can more clearly say what I think I need. 1) I need to provide her shelter from the sun and hopefully this will stop the under the porch digging 2) I need to keep her from digging out of the fence by either installing an electric fence or building her a pen or possi...

I've heard of the chicken wire too. That was one of the options we are considering. The problem is there is sooooo much fence! Where to start! She also likes to dig INTO our neighbors yard to play with their Golden Retriever. I can't make her come back to me when she gets out. She will see me...

Need help with my Brittany
I've been on this board a few times for advice and you guys are always really helpful. I know I am probably the worst Brittany owner in the world, but I'd still like some help. She turned 2 the first of January and I've yet to get her spayed. Her last heat began around the first of March and I have ...

Sorry for the double post. Just got back from the vets. Appears that she is experiencing a 'false pregnancy'. Milk and everything. That was most interesting to ds....age 5...watching the milk squirt across the room. He didnt X-ray her, but did feel around really well and he is '99%' sure she is not ...

In this thread, Barb mentioned that once I see bleeding, assume the dog is fertile there on out for the next 2 weeks---3 to be safe. If that is the case, she could have gotten pregnant as late as the 21st or 28 and if we count 60 something days from then....she would be having pups any day. :( I am ...

 I think Maggie might be pregnant! She was in heat again in September, right on schedule....I first noticed bleeding September 7th. A few times over the past few weeks, I've thot her teats looked a bit swollen, but dismissed it from my mind. Last night dh was petting her on the tummy and said,...

I wanted to add that the man I bought her from is not a breeder, or at least I don't think you would consider him a breeder exactly. He has show hunting dogs....4 of them. Btw, I remember those dogs as being HUGE and my little female is only 35 pounds and my friend has her litter mate and she is onl...

Thank you for your replies. What is OFA? An organization of some sort I assume. How do I go about locating them? Also, how do I go about locating a male to breed her with? I recently had her groomed....about a month ago.....but I don't know if they cleaned her anal glands. I sort of doubt it. And sh...
