Re: Rosie / Check Up

We dont have any cactus in our yard and Patti does not walk Rosie out too much in the open as shes scared of running accros a snake (cant say I blame her). As far as cactus and stickers, we have 7 rose bushes in our backyard and Rosie does not hestitate to dive in after a lizard. We find thorns on o...

Re: Rosie / Check Up

Thanks Barb. I am sorry for the lack of updates. The vet here said he has been in business for over 20 years and said his experience with thyroid cancer cases are pretty devestating. He called her his miracle dog today. We love it here in Safford, AZ. Yes it was hot in the summer but being in the va...

Rosie / Check Up

Well Rosie is 2 months from her thyroid cancer surgery and went in today for her annual shots and check up. X-rays of her lungs showed nothing and her heart sounded fine and her physical exam showed nothing. Shes 38 lbs and doing real well. We are really lucky to have caught this so early and hopefu...

Re: DAVE, OH DAVE (MAJOR tissue alert)

I, as everyone else, am shocked and upset by this news. I too, had never met Dave, but he was always one of the first ones to offer help, support, or advice with Rosie and I felt like a good friend of his. This hits home, as I lost my father in 1991 to a massive heart attack. R.I.P. Dave and may God...

Re: Rosie Update!

Well Rosie got her stitches out yesterday and everything is as good as can be. She has an internal blood blister (forgot the name) right under her incision so she still needs to be restricted a bit until that goes away. she has been in complete lizard hunt mode and really eating well. the vet here s...

Re: Rosie Update!

As you all know she is quite the jumper and climber. She can reach the top of that brick fence pretty easy and I am convinced that she could scale this fence. Shes able to get her front paws up on the top of the brick and lets go when we call her down.

Rosie Update!

Well our girl has just about returned to herself as she is eating her regular dry food and acting like her old self. Its funny because her bark has changed as somehow the surgery has made her hoarse. The cut looks good, still a bit swollen, which they said to expect, and the stitches will come out n...

Re: All In Arizona: Good News and Bad News

Rosie's stable and still recovering from the surgery. No setbacks and still doing her business and eating 3 helpings of chicken and rice a day. She gets spurts of energy but basically sleeps and is comfortable. The vet called and they are confident that the tumor was removed completely and in areas ...

Re: All In Arizona: Good News and Bad News

Well, all is good so far today. No vomitting episodes after a day of chicken and rice and plenty of rest and comfort. She enjoys roaming in the yard on leash for a bit and is then ready to return to her pillow and blanket. The insicion looks good and she is leaving it alone so far which is good.

Re: All In Arizona: Good News and Bad News

Rosie had a good day today and was bit more of herself but still a bit worn out. She had a rough morning vomitting her small dinner from last night but after a few helpings of rice and a small amout of chicken, all is well so far. No pain meds needed today which may be helping her stomach. She comfo...

Re: All In Arizona: Good News and Bad News

Yes Barb, shes home and sprawled out on her favorite blanket with socks on her feet and very comfortable. They sent pain meds for her and recommended we use it for the next day or two. Shes on leash only yard arrest w/harness for 12 days and then the stitches come out. Shes has about a 3 inch ...

Re: Rosie in New Yard.

Shes home and doing okay. Resting, walking around etc. All on leash for the next 12 days - will be interesting. She has Josh's sox on to help her from scratching the insicion. I think its a bit of everything with her weight. We had her clipped (real short) on July before leaving New Orlean...

Rosie in New Yard.

I was just missing Rosie and looking through some recent pictures and figured I'd share a few. Here is a close up of her just from the other day: http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7394/rosieupcloseandpersonal.th.jpg Here is another one "posing" in the yard here in Thatcher, Arizona: http://img269.i...
