Yes - at first the vet thought the 2 drugs taken together could be causing the upset stomach. So we took her off both drugs. That seemed to help a bit with her eating. Then the coughing got really bad so we had to put her back on the lasix without the digitalis. Coughing improved but not the appetit...

Major Heart problems

We are so sad ... our oldest rescue (Annie - age 12/13) was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy 10 days ago. She's had a mild/moderate heart murmur for the last 6 years and it never gave any problems. Until 2 weeks ago, she could just about keep up with Kayla who's only 2!!! But, she started with a mild c...

I'm amazed you can get one week out of a toy!!! That's pretty good. We had one of those toys with the 4 rope legs and it did pretty well. The stuffing and squeeker was pulled out in about 2-3 days, but the remaining outer shell lasted for a few weeks. When you look in our dog toy basket, all you fin...

Well - looks like I purchased some conterfeit Frontline Plus. Their website was very helpful is identifying the package. However, I've already used this on my 3 dogs for 3 months with no ill effects. I called their consumer hotline number and the guy was very helpful. He said the biggest problems th...

Is there a barrier in your car? I think that's part of Riley's problem, he is very attached to us, and hates not being able to be near us. YES - we do have a barrier but it's positioned to keep the dogs from getting at groceries and other things in the way back! They all get to ride directly behind...

We've had her since last November and she does get to go on car rides at least 3-4 times/week, sometimes more. All the dogs go with us in the car, even if just to run to the local store (local - ha! It's 10 miles roundtrip!). Kayla is always the first one in and the first one out. She is VERY attach...

Rescue Remedy and Car Travel

I know the topic of using Rescue Remedy for a variety of behavioral issues has been discussed before. But, just wondering if anyone has used it for dogs that just won't settle down in the car. Our latest addition - Kayla (2 years old) - LOVES to ride in the car. But she's so excited that she won't j...

WOW! I learned some things I didn't know before. Guess this explains why Annie keeps going in the bathroom and jumping in the tub! One of the big advantages of my two older dogs losing their hearing is that a thunder storm needs to be really bad before they sense or hear it! Sure has made our lives ...

Had 2 beagles when I was growing up. VERY cute but NEVER again. Seems like I spent the better part of 17 years yelling at them to stop barking and howling whenever a rabbit went through the yard ... which was most of the time. Then got an Old English Sheepdog after I graduated from college. She was ...

Drooling

This is all very interesting. My dogs got into copperhead snakes when we took them on the river to swim. We never heard them bark or whine but they both came back to the canoe drooling, unable to walk very well, and generally appearing dazed and confused. We called our vet and he immediately said "c...
