Re: She actually listened!

Yeah Maggie! Isn't it just great when they do listen! I love the "leave it" command (at least for Lola, Tramp doesn't get it and I have not even tried to teach him  ) but it is a great command. Especially around skunks. Lola killed our "pet" groundhog. The poor thing (and or her decendents) ha...

Re: Naughty Dogs!!!

Oh no! I'd worry about him getting burned. But since you are laughing I guess no body got hurt so it is kinda funny. :D You guys make me ashamed that my two don't counter (or stove) surf :P (Which is totally backwards, I know) Our counters are piled with dirty dishes, lumps of lung treats, roasts fo...

She's so pretty. Love her colour.

Hope things continue to go well... keep us up to date on her progress.

Re: Help with fearful brittany puppy - 7.5 months old

Everything everyone's said seems bang on to me. With off leash dogs it's such a complicated business... there is no answer since every situation is different and ya just have to judge by the situation. I had soooo much trouble when Lola was around 2. She decided she didn't want to have anything to d...

Re: Dental Chews

I wouldn't think the amount of grass they could get would make much difference. Mine are grasseaters too and considering the way it comes out  I don't think it gets chewed up much - just chopped and swallowed. Lola's 9 and when she was recently under (so the vet could look at that huge lump on...

Re: Weird freak-out session

Could maybe have been nerves?.... smelled something scary or too exciting (wolf, coyote... bear)? I know Tramp has had diahrrea as a result of stress. He is afraid of gun shots (around here it really sucks to be afraid of gun shots at this time of year, I can't find anywhere to walk him)... but the ...

Re: Anyone done the experiment....

HaHa apology accepted. I'm always calling Tramp Lola and Lola Tramp. The only one who seems to mind is Princess Lola who gets terribly offended.

Re: Anyone done the experiment....

Trampers is only an honorary Brit. He is in fact one of those inferior types that comes with big long tail. (We love him anyway). Luckily the stench is gone and he is back up on the couch waiting patiently (sorta) for me to take him for a run. I guess there is never a good time for an unscheduled ba...

Never mind, I broke down and washed him.... he smells a bit better now.... trouble is I forgot to wash the tail (he still stinks a little).

Anyone done the experiment....

So, Tramp stinks! Rolled in something dead (while under DH's supervision  ). Well, I've put in a full day and it's my turn to cook, I still have to take them for their after-work walk..... I don't feel like squeezing a dog bath into my evening... anyone ever left a stinkin' dog to stink.... wi...

I don't know how I missed all these posts but I'm sorta glad because I'm coming in on a positive note. I'm so glad you caught it early. It's such good news. Hopefully there will be many many more years of quality life.

Re: Winnie Update

They look so great together. I've often wondered if it isn't easier to raise a puppy when you already have a trained dog around. Someone to show the new kid the ropes and to help with minding the baby. I'm glad to hear that your two are working together to destroy the family sock supply. Go Team Work!

Re: Winnie

I just want to pick her up and give her a good cuddle. She is adorable! I hope Jack grows to love her and consider her good company.

It's sooo lucky they are that cute... even I want her (well, my heart does - my head is dead set against it).

Re: Senility/Cognitive Dysfunction- UPDATE

I thought... they must make hearing aids for dogs... googled and ... apparently they do. One website said some pet insurance policies even cover them and to ask your vet. Ya know with so many elderly dogs out there you'd think some smart businessy type vet would be busy perfecting and marketing them...

Re: Senility/Cognitive Dysfunction- UPDATE

I do the same thing with Lola, she has to be covering 3 or 4 times the distance I travel. She effortlessly covers so much ground! Someone needs to design a pedometer for dogs... I'd love to know how far she really travels. 8 miles is terrific and it's so nice to hear Kayla kept up and enjoyed hersel...
