Re: puppies
CharLee was 8 years younger than Trapper, Kallie and Scout (RIP). We never had a problem with them accepting her even though she was blind. We also fostered puppies at one point and Trapper took great delight in being their mentor (lucky for their new home  ) Still, I was hesitant to get an...

Re: Fenton is adopted
Congratulations on a successful adoption! I agree with you that fostering is rewarding. We have made such great friends through ABR, both adopters and other volunteers.
Re: Books
I have a book called "Brittany: The Essential Guide for the Brittany Lover" by Sheila Webster Boneham, PhD. My husband is a hunter and is training our one year old. He likes a book called Gun Dog by Richard A. Wolters. Ours was copyrighted in 1963 so it may not be in print anymore. Not sure where he...

I love the liver and white. Our Scout (RIP) and our Kallie are l/w. He sounds like he is happy to be with you. Do you plan to hunt with him or just hang?

Re: ABR Loss **UPDATE**
Kat was a dear friend and Copper a special foster dog. I loved those two dearly and as the song goes "I can't cry hard enough."
I will forever be grateful to ABR for bringing these two special souls into my life.

Re: Oh Sheep!

Oops, never mind.

Re: Layla's nose
whew! scarey! My image is you and John, lying in bed, listening to Layla breath, getting up to check her, worrying, worrying...while Layla happily snoozed away  Seriously, that was my image too. We got our second Brittany, Diamond, when our daughter was 16. When our daughter graduated from col...

Re: Trapper & His New Year
Thank you for that comment. I have often said that Trapper is my penance. :P Everyone at the vet's office says he is a good boy ... even the vet who once banned me from coming to the office with him. Only my husband could bring him in because Trapper was so busy protecting me. The vet is impressed w...

Trapper & His New Year
Trapper had surgery on December 28. He has cancer and this will not cure it but we are hoping it will buy more time because he is eating well and gets around good. What we did not know until the vet opened him up was the tumor was full of infection. Trapper spent two nights at the clinic and we have...
