Re: Ears
I have the same situation that Cindy described... Jack (O & W) has naturally short ear hair, while Rocket's (L & W) gets very long if I don't keep it trimmed up. Rocket runs in the field a lot, so it can get matted and messy if I let it go. I I usually use a # 3 or #4 guard just to thin the fur out ...

Re: New Brittany Owner
Regarding the matter of crating... we crated Rocket for a few months when we first got him. Eventually I started leaving him out while I ran short errands, and then kept gradually increasing the time alone. He hasn't been back in the crate for years at this point... Same story pretty much with Jack,...

Re: The dryer? Really?
Rocket LOVES dryer sheets! If he finds one that ended up on the laundry room floor for some reason, he'll sneak away and then rub his face all over it. Too funny!britlover wrote:Did one of the dogs happen to smell like dryer sheets

What's up with that....?
For reasons unknown, this year Rocket has been taking ornaments off the tree and chewing them up. Not sure why... he's 10 years old and has never done this before. Yesterday I caught him red-handed with a candy cane. He gave me the guiltiest look, and then went slinking off. The tree is actually up ...

News like this is never easy... My thoughts are with you all. Hugs!
Good Dog?
So, now that we've turned the clocks back I can get the dogs out for a run once again before work. This morning, Rocket came face to face with a young doe as we came around a bend in the path. Rocket has a history of deer-chasing, so I was kind of surprised when I called him back, and he actually ca...

Re: how to tell a child?
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news about Logan. My youngest child was 3 when our first brittany, Rebel, passed away. I would suggest keeping it very simple. Explain the situation, acknowledge feelings, offer comfort... Follow his lead. Children are pretty resiliant, and often accept things more easi...

Re: Jill had a seizure - ANOTHER ONE!
Oh Cindy, so sorry for all your troubles. Why does everything have to happen all at the same time? I completely understand your concerns for Jill... hopefully the vet will be able to clarify things more, now that there hve been repeated episodes. I think the worst part about seizures is the unpredic...

Re: East Coast people
We came through the storm pretty well here in Harford County, MD. Lots of trees down and still a lot ofpower outages, but I think we fared better than expected. Our power was out at home for about 20 very long hours and my work has no electricity, so I have the day off! School was supposed to start ...

Re: Jack's Check Up
I'm happy to report that Jack had his dental procedure yesterday and came through with flying colors! We also have a new vet....After getting the estimate for Jack's work, I decided to get a 2nd opinion, and I'm glad I did. The new vet was great, and took so much time explaining everything to me. It...

Adorable puppy and great video clip! And just so you know, whatever Charm is saying must be important because Jack wanted in on the conversation too, lol. I was showing my son the video last night when he woke up from a sound sleep and started barking like crazy! Too funny!

Jack's Check Up
Jack went to the vet yesterday for his annual check up, and it wasn't the greatest....for starters, he tested positive for erlichiosis and is now on doxycycline. Even worse, he has two teeth on the bottom that are loose and need to be pulled... front teeth too. I brush his teeth regularly, and the v...
