Talking about a cream rinse, my vet also gave use "Resi-soothe". It is a leave in conditioner. That also helped a lot.

Yes, Atarax is what I have for Jack. I tried Benedryl, Chlorpheniramine, and Loratadine (Claratin) before getting a Rx. At the beginning the vet prescribed the Atarax along with the prednisone for about 10 days in decreasing amounts. That worked well enough to get things under control so that all he...

Yes, it could take a couple weeks of daily dosing. My poor little Jack has to have it every day morning and night or he is one big itch. He takes Atarax. But I have also found out that he is allergic to chicken and corn. So you might want to check to see if it could be related to his diet.

My Jack just had one that he managed to get to the size of about 4 inches in about 4 hours. I have no idea what caused it. It was so gross! It was also very painful to him.
