Sore footie?

Buckley cannot seem to stay out of trouble lately. Monday he must have hurt his foot somehow because since I got home Monday evening, he keeps holding up his left paw. I can't find anything physically wrong with it - no obvious signs of swelling, no cuts, nothing stuck between the toes or in the pads. He limps on it and obviously doesn't put much weight on it while he's standing. But when we go outside, he tries to make me take him on a drag...errr, walk...full speed, full force down the sidewalk. He seems to ignore it and walk normally when he's adequately distracted. I thought maybe he had just twisted or tweaked his foot or wrist so I haven't done anything yet (since there are no obvious signs of damage).

Since tomorrow is Friday and Buckley is due to be dropped off at the kennel while I'm off on another whirlwind two-week trip for work, is it time to take him to the vet? I feel like I'm overreacting with him since it seems like we're at the vet all the time getting weight checked and scripts refilled and such. I guess if it were my foot, I'd ignore it but I'm also a little stubborn about aches and pains like that. I don't want to make Buckley suffer unnecessarily though, especially since I'm leaving. How long do I let this go before it's obvious it's not getting better on its own?

If he can go on a "drag" and not favor it I sure wouldn't worry about it. If he is still favoring it when you get back then the next time you have to go for weight/scrips mention it then. He probably just banged it or strained a muscle....give it some time to repair naturally.

Mr. B sure has been getting into trouble lately! Did you check his nails really well to make sure one isn't broken or split? First time that happened to Kayla it took a week before we saw her nail was split. If not, I agree with Barb. Just let the kennel know and I assume they would call the vet if it doesn't get better???
