heartworm protection

Post by MaggieRocks »

I'll be using my last doses of Interceptor tomorrow. Was ordering from Drs Foster & Smith, but it is now no longer available from them. Before switching to Interceptor, I was using Heartgard. What is everybody else using? Any recommendations?

I've gone back to Heartgard. I have used it before and my Vet said it was basically the same as the other brand (and I can't remember if that was Iverheart or something else) he recommended so I went with something I knew.

I was using trifexis, the all in one heartworm protection and flea and tick protection... but even if it is cheaper, I was really questioning if it was necessary to have an all in one... especially since fleas and ticks are less active in really cold winters, so likely it is overkill in winter...

so i went back on heartguard for heartworm protection, and im using a generic frontline for flea and tick protection... so far it seems to be working, and i never had problems with heartguard before
