Tube Socks for Dogs

Post by Cindy »

I need to replenish my emergency dog supplies which means getting more small, inexpensive tube socks for foot injuries. I've been everywhere (Walmart, Target, Kohls, etc.) and no one seems to sell small size tube socks. Any ideas where to find them? I can find them for adults but that's way too big for our dogs. They are the best if you have a foot injury. Are they called something else???

I've always bought baby socks for my dog's feet. :)

Doesn't the heel part get in the way or make them slip off? That's kind of what I was worried about.

If you're handy with a sewing machine, you could probably get some inexpensive fabric to make quick socks for your dogs. It might even be better since they don't need the heel part. A quick straight line up two sides and the bottom would take a few minutes per sock if you hem the top as well. You could probably even add an elastic to help keep it on.

I prefer using child-sized socks, but in a pinch I've used an adult sized crew sock and secured it with adhesive tape or sports wrap to keep it from slipping (without being too tight).

A sporting goods store might carry child size tube socks. Someplace that has soccer supplies. Good Luck.

Good tip - I will check out Dicks and Gander Mountain next time I'm in civilization.

I was in an outdoor gear store yesterday after I made my post and low and behold, there are child tube socks. The brand this store carried was "Wigwam", so you could check your area for stores that carry that brand.
