I was just getting ready to email Lisa (one of the discussion board moderators) as I "think" she lives near Houston. Hope everyone is OK in that area. I've sees lots of video of people getting evacuated with their dogs on leash or under their arm. I can't even imagine ...

Lisa lives near the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, so she should be okay, maybe a bit damp though. I am sure she is keeping contact with other ABR Texas volunteers....doing whatever needs to be done. Maybe she will drop by and up date us if and when she can.

I just can't believe what I'm seeing on TV. I'm thinking of everyone too. Please stay safe. This just breaks my heart.

I'm high and dry north of Dallas. So far all the ABR folks in Houston are wet but safe. Pray the floodwaters recede quickly and don't climb any higher.

My daughter lives south of Houston near Galveston. We had just visited about two weeks before Harvey. You could canoe their street and they got about an inch of water throughout their house. Her husband's grandparents lost their house and all belongings (they live near Port Arthur.)

So hard for anyone to go through, but especially for senior citizens. I try now and then to convince my husband to relocate somewhere with warmer weather-not Florida or Arizona, but just somewhere further south like the Carolina's or even Tennessee. He always has to point out the hurricanes and the flooding. He says he'll stay put in PA and deal with the occasional blizzard. I guess that's one good thing about our area-no hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, earthquakes, riots! I guess we are blessed.

I remember vacationing in Texas many years ago, and it was dry as a bone when we were there. We saw creek beds with barely a trickle of water. I feel so bad for the people there now. I cannot even imagine living through that.
