Did your Britt make you laugh today? Did he do something so smart, you are blown away? Those puppy teeth causing you to tear up, and you need an outlet? Or do you want to post a picture of his or her latest point? This is the place for it!

What should I do about Bosco's ears? UPDATE

Post by LauraV »

Bosco (my failed foster who lost his leg last year http://abrbosco.blogspot.com/) will be featured in a book about rescued dogs (highlighting ABR). The problem is he has long ears that aren't exactly Brittanyish. We like his ears long because they give him so much personality, but he should probably look more like a Brit.
Should we have them cut short?

We have decided to cut them short, they grow like weeds so I'm sure they'll be back to long in no time! DH will just have to get over himself for this one!

Anyway, here is a picture of Bosco when we first got him and his ears were shorter. Is this short enough, or should we go shorter?

I don't know but I think the ears are adorable. I guess I'd leave them.....

I'd vote for trimming them up for photo ops for the book...important that he look as much like a Britt as possible :D If you like them long they will always grow back.....just like no bad hair cut is forever :P

I vote for trimming - leaving them "as is" makes him look more like a Springer. Adorable for sure but .....

I can tell you if he were my dog and I thought his ears were part of his charm, I would not trim them. Springers and Brittanys are confused all the time anyway and trimming his ears is not going to change that. You failed at fostering him partly because of those iggies, why hide his charm now???

His ears are adorable!! For the book though, I personally would trim them.

I think I would trim them too. He is adorable but does look very much like a Springer. As was said above, no hair cut is forever. Heck, I had my boy Maverick in a show cut in January, and it's already grown out longer all over than before! And actually he's due a trim now...
