I think I agree with you on the pits, Brian. A well trained pit bull is amazingly protective and very observant and concerned for their people. I think there's so much stigma associated with pits along with potential issues with prey drive that mean they'll never be common service dogs.
As this point, I am def leaning towards a Brittany more then a GSP.

One of my local shelters had two EP's brought in as "strays". One male and one female. The female was pregnant. I'm on the list to adopt one of the pups when they are ready-in about 3-4 weeks. :D

I'm quite excited, but trying not to get too hopeful in case something happens. :?
