Donate a car

Good Morning,

I have a car I would like to donate, We have done this about 15 years ago,but I don't remember who I donated too. Has anyone done this? and I would like to donate to an animal resuce. Of course American Brittany would be my first choice,but I don't know if you do that.

Also I guess it has to be IRS approved in order to get the tax right off.

We donated a car last fall to a local charity organization and it was very simple. I made the call, provided all the necessary information over the phone, and they made the arrangements for a tow truck to take it away. I gave the driver the signed title and keys, and he gave me a tax receipt for $500 (If the car sold for more than that at the auto auction, I would then be notified about the amount and issued a new tax receipt.) It was super easy. Depending on where you live, there may be an animal organization or SPCA near you that accepts car donations. An internet search will likely turn something up!
