We've been having a heat wave here in So. Cal High Desert...107-110...good thing we just had security doors put on with a built in doggie door! Now Sammy and his sisters can get out of the heat while I am at work. So far so good..he is behaving exceptional in the house...when he slips out the door to chase the rabbits...not so much!
Hope all is well with everyone!

Did your Britt make you laugh today? Did he do something so smart, you are blown away? Those puppy teeth causing you to tear up, and you need an outlet? Or do you want to post a picture of his or her latest point? This is the place for it!

Re: Heat wave!
Summer has set in here too (Virginia). Fortunately John is around most days but the dogs have access in and out of the house (and therefore AC) when we're both away. One problem I've discovered is that Pippa will not drink water from any container left in the garage, mudroom or on the deck. When we get home, she races into the house and drinks the entire large dog bowl of water in the kitchen!! Not sure what to do about that.
Re: Heat wave!
strange how they get certain "routines" or "rules" in their heads...like...you only drink water from the inside bowl...
Gage won't cross in front of you when walking...has to go behind you...someone probably taught him that and it is good in that he doesn't trip you, though if Ed and I are walking next to each other, he has to go behind both of us and wraps the leash around Ed
JJ doesn't want to walk across a certain part of the family room...think he slipped once and now doesn't take a chance...actually, fading, fortunately...
I think Britts are so observant and so sensitive that if something happens once, they notice and remember.....for all of them, there are certain places where they found a critter and we have to stop and check there EVERY time we go by...might still be there, you know
horribly hot here too...trying to get out early to walk a little, but for several days, too hot to even do that...hoping for a break over the weekend...

Re: Heat wave!
It was hot here too this past weekend. Temps were above 100 degrees for several days. We put the baby pool out for the dogs to play in. We keep water outside but they got the memo about how good inside water is. We keep them in the house when we are gone and they like to rest in the basement where it is nice and cool. Me too!
I put an ice treat out for the dogs this weekend and Trapper was loving it as you can see from this pic!

Love that treat! Ours prefer the inside water also...and Sammy always stops in the same spots to look for Rabbits! He may chew something...but only that one time after he's told "no no" he leaves it alone...but then he will move on to something else...not bad tho...it's when he gets bored. Today they are outside..lets see if the flap to the doggie door gets chewed up...I betting yes...lol

Auntie Mom,
I know you've mentioned it before but where did you get that Ice Treat mechanism.
