Last week...as the vet predicted, his seizures increased in frequency and intensity, and it took longer and longer for him to recover...the morning we let him go, he had not really "come back" after 6 hours...we know in our heads that it was the right thing, but my heart is broken...I know it will ease, and as I type this, JJ, bless his heart, is curled up next to me, '
but Gage was....Gage

Did your Britt make you laugh today? Did he do something so smart, you are blown away? Those puppy teeth causing you to tear up, and you need an outlet? Or do you want to post a picture of his or her latest point? This is the place for it!

Re: Gage crossed the bridge
Sooo sorry about Gage. This sort of sounds like how we lost our Jill. She was having seizures for a couple of years and they increased in frequency and duration. Then one day, all of a sudden, the vet couldn't stop them. You know you did the right thing but that doesn't make it easier or the lessen the loss. These dog leave a HUGE hole in your heart but having JJ nearby will help (a little). I feel your pain ....

Again sad news....so sorry to hear about Gage......it seems our time with them passes so quickly. I so wish it was different. At least you have JJ to comfort you and no doubt he will be lonesome for awhile as well. Heartfelt condolences for the tearful last days....I know the good memories will prevail.

I am so sorry to hear about Gage. Always remember he had a wonderful life with you and you did everything you could to help him with his health issues.

I am truly sorry to hear about Gage. What a heartache. A friend sent me this poem when one of my fur babies died. Hope it brings you comfort.
I Loved You Best
So this is where we part, My friend
And you’ll run on, around the bend.
Gone from sight, but not from mind,
New pleasures there you’ll surely find.
I will go on, I’ll find the strength
Life measures quality, not its length
One long embrace before you leave,
Share one last look, before I grieve.
There are others, that much is true,
But they be they, and they aren’t you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought
Will remember well all you’ve taught.
Your place I’ll hold, you will be missed,
The fur I stroked, the nose I kissed
And as you journey to your final rest,
Take with you this … I loved you best.

I have been so busy this summer that I haven't been checking the message board much. I was so sorry to see this thread. It has been a few weeks now but I'm sure the pain is still there. They hold such a special place in our heart. I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you !!!!
