What is with all the spam we are getting lately? So annoying!!!

Agreed! Usually a screen name with random letters and numbers, responding to an randomly old post, that was posted in the middle of the night is a giveaway. Or if it mentions Kate Spade bags in the Subject heading, lol.

Lisa and I are trying to stay on top of it......we move them to Riff Raff (you can't see that forum) and Mark blocks them. I try to do a late night "lurk" to catch them, but when they live half way around the world it gets complicated We'll keep after them best we can

I'm an Admin on another message board so I know how hard it is to catch these and block the IPs. I sure appreciate your efforts.

I just don't understand the thrill in spamming message boards.

Yeah, we've been hit pretty hard lately. I'm trying to go in first thing in the morning and ban all the new screen names that popped up overnight, hopefully before they can post anything. Since I've been doing that, older screen names are starting to be used.

We're working hard at getting rid of the spam as soon as we see it.

Thank you Barb and Lisa and Mark! You guys do a wonderful job for us and we really appreciate it. But Mark? Who is this mysterious Mark you speak of? Not that Mark we all used to know and love years ago?? Who used to post pictures of that beautiful Gabe?

I've gone through and banned a bunch of the users that have been flagged as spam (thanks Barb and Lisa!). Unfortunately, spammers have moved on to using real people, so the typical bot/captcha stuff that keeps the automated spam out, doesn't work so well any more.
